This section is for patients to provide information on some of the common shoulder conditions and solutions. An answer for FAQ's will be found in each section.
  General information for patients about arthroscopic procedures:

» Arthroscopic surgeries are keyhole surgeries; i.e. stab incisions that need no stitches.    They are cosmetic and hardly seen afterwards.

» Admission to the hospital on the morning of surgery at 8 a.m. and discharge at 8 p.m.    For rotator cuff tears an overnight care is usually preferred.

» Labs and ECG necessary for surgery are done immediately after admission to the    hospital. Any known medical problem must be controlled before admission.

» All arthroscopic procedures are performed under general anesthesia.

» Adequate post-operative analgesia is insured.

» First visit after surgery is 2-3 days at my clinic.

» Small waterproof dressings are applied to be able to bath normally.

» For all surgeries physiotherapy rehabilitation program begins 2-3 days after arthroscopy.

» Follow-up is on a regular basis; appointments weekly or bi-weekly are arranged till    returning to your pre-injury status.

» All employees can usually go back to their office work after 3 days of surgery.

» Athletes are back to sports within 3-6 months according to type of sport.

» All patients receive a DVD of their own surgery. The real time of surgery is the time of    the real time media player.
